Truckers have been warned to prepare for possible unrest in Zambia on Thursday (August 12), the country’s election day.

CEO of the Federation of East and Southern African Road Transport Associations, Mike Fitzmaurice, has alerted the industry to the threat of disruptions on the day and the days following.

“For trucks that may need to park off during this period, Inter Africa has four truck parks available.”

“There’s one in Kafue that can accommodate 300 trucks, two in Lusaka 300 and one in Chingola that can hold 200 trucks,” he said.
